Edit: We have reached the goal and are upgrading! Thanks to everyone who donated!

Current funding status can be found by scrolling up.

In light of the continued growth of the server, it's once again time to upgrade the server hardware. As you know, shit doesn't come cheap (nothing does :S). Our current server contract expires on the 24th May 2012. If we receive our target amount by that, we'll be upgrading, thus returning back to the days of 20 TPS (yay :D).

It will basically just be a CPU upgrade, as that is our main bottleneck at the moment which is holding back the TPS. The new CPU is top of the line and would be 3 times faster (we expect).

We would also be moving server locations to Phoenix, AZ, USA. This is where the majority of our players are located.
Europeans players should only see there ping increase to 100-300ms, which wouldn't be noticeable after all.

Here are the specs we would have:
  • 16GB DDR3 RAM
  • Intel Xeon Quad Core E3-1270 @3.80 GHz
  • 100 Mbit Uplink
If we reach the goal, the server would be upgrading on the 26th May 2012.

Wow, this is great, I hope you reach the goal of $500 for an upgrade. My birthday's coming up so I will try and donate for a VIP or VIP+, however I don't like the idea of it only being for a month, I think VIP+ should at least be for a year!

I disagree Joey. These seem fair. The idea is to get people to give as much as possible beore they get burnt and quit.
