Since the restart of the server, I have been living in the mountains besides your lovely town of Bester Ville, along with several other small communities (perhaps you have seen the slow rise of a trio of marble, mountain shaped towers). I recently was robbed, an event which was not quite as drastic as the appearance of a thief in your town a week or so ago, but was still tragic.

I don't know your plans for your village, but I suggest setting up a neighborhood watch of some sort, or perhaps a method of incorporating or connecting the nearby settlements to Bester Ville.

Im not sure if an effective neighborhood watch could be setup, so I don't know about that. I'm perfectly fine with rail lines leading to and away from BesterVille, we had 3 last map, and I think fabricator is working on one that connects his base to BesterVille.

The best way to do this is if you set up those settlements as outposts, although this is quite expensive, so the residents could probably fund it themselves, if they should want

They are town areas that are not bordering other town chunks, separated from the home one.

To me this sounds like a great idea, although I have only been a member of the town for a fortnight or so, I have taken the liberty of jetpacking around the environment (very fun), and talking to the owners of surrounding settlements, most of them seem willing if not enthusiastic about joining their bases to Besterville, so setting up outposts and train lines/roads to connect them seems to be a perfect idea! Not only would it provide us with more citizens and land, but it would also set Besterville up as a central location for the area (resulting in more business for the marketplace) and encourage people to set up townhouses, meaning we would have more houses in central Besterville as well. Also the inclusion of their houses into Besterville means they are safe from random griefers. Overall everyone wins!
